William "Lowell" Swayne, age 90, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 in Mason, OH.
He was born January 17, 1932 in Locust Grove, OH, son of the late George William Swayne and Ona Ethel Freeze Swayne.
Lowell was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ; Hillsboro Masonic Lodge #38 F & AM; had retired from the Highland County ODOT as a heavy equipment operator and before that was in the construction business. He was also a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
Surviving is his wife, Winona "Nonie" Swayne whom he married July 2, 1957 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, two sons, Bill (Lisa) Swayne and Tom Swayne. Also left to mourn his passing are five grandchildren, Roxie (Tyler) Barker, Brady (Amber) Swayne, Tabitha Swayne, Jordy (Billy) Swayne and Dusty (Amie) Swayne; five great-grandchildren, Grayson, Oxphinn, Xander James, Briar Rose and Crue; sister, Kay Cofer and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by five brothers, Russell, Lester, Dean, Lloyd and Dennis Swayne, and four sisters, Weathly Henise, Zelma Knauff, Opal Browning and Ermaline Rhoads.
Services will be held at the Hillsboro Church of Christ, 155 Walnut St., Hillsboro, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Pastor James Bush officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the church Saturday, April 2, 2022, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
