William Albert Mitchell,
age 80, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, August 9, 2016 at the Cape May Retirement Community in Wilmington.
He was born April 5, 1936 in Cincinnati, OH, son of Ellis McKinley Mitchell and Velma Alberta Boerstler .
Bill retired from Ohio Public Utilities Commission as the Railroad Safety Officer and Had been a Railroad Conductor his whole life working for B & O, USSC, and Florida East Coast Railroads. He was a member of: Faith Lutheran Church- where he was the last adult charter member; Wilmington F & A M #52- where he was a 50 yr member, Scottish Rite-Valley of Cincinnati, Aladdin Shrine of Columbus, Aladdin Shrine Band, Lions Club of Wilmington, Eastern Star Chapter #327, New Vienna, Clinton County Shrine Club, and the Clinton County Community Band.
Surviving are his wife- Beth Ann Mitchell of Wilmington; daughter- Cheryl (Alvin) Wilson of Okeechobee, FL; granddaughter- Amanda Marie Wilson of Jupiter, FL; brother-in-law- J. Harold (Kathy) Harker of Wilmington.
Memorial Services will be held 11AM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Faith Lutheran Church, 421 East Vine Street at Prairie Avenue, Wilmington with Pastor June Fryman officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 11 AM, Tuesday at the church.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, is serving the family.
