Wendell R Irvin,
age 93, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Sunday night, January 22, 2017 at the WilmingtonNursing and Rehab Center.
He was born April 21, 1923 in Wilmington, Ohio, son of the late Russell Olivis & Gladys Pearl (Murray) Irvin. On February 15, 1947 in Wilmington, he married Margene M. Mathews Irvin, who survives.
Wendell worked for Model Cleaners in Wilmington for over 20 years and had also worked for the Cincinnati Milicron for 15 years. A 1942 Wilmington High School graduate and a WWII US Army Veteran, he was a member of the New Antioch Church of Christ and the Clinton County Squares.
In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his sister- Bernita Hollingsworth of Wilmington; nieces- Teresa Upole, Janet Dearth, Dena (John) Snelling, Donna Sue (Michael) Dell, Jane Mathews, & Barbara (Jerry) Degarmo; nepews- David M. (Lisa) Hollingsworth & David M. (Dawn) Hull..
In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his sister- Norma Lee Graves and a niece- Sue Frances Fleming.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the New Antioch Church of Christ, Antioch Road, New Antioch,Ohio with the Pastor Sid Clay officiating. Interment will follow in the New Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the time of services.
