WD Diamond

 Winfred Devine " W.D." Diamond, 

age 85, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, September 3, 2024 at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehab Center in Wilmington, Ohio. He was born August 23, 1939 in Nowata, Oklahoma, son of the late Harry Leo & Opal Matilda (Blanke) Diamond. On July 16, 1988 in Waynesville, Ohio, he married Mary Catherine "Cathy" Ross Diamond, who passed on Friday, April 1, 2016.To many he was known as a gambler, he loved playing poker, slot machines, bingo, etc. A US Army Veteran, WD worked several years in the grocery/produce business and retired from one of his favorite jobs as a parts delivery driver for NAPA Auto Parts in Wilmington, where his boss and co-workers were like family and he enjoyed talking to all of the customers on his route. 

 Surviving are his 5 children- Danny Lee Diamond, Bartlesville, OK; Sharon (Jeanette Cox) Diamond of Claremore, OK, Lucy (Shane) Pitts, of AZ, Winn Cox, of KS, & Dawn Cox of AZ; 6 step-children- Jimmy "Dean" (Melinda) Ewing of Wilmington, OH, Danny (Dawn) Ewing of Washington Court House, OH, Dennis (Jennifer Maynard) Ewing of Jamestown, Darryl (Edie) Ewing, & David Ewing of Wilmington and Dawn (Charlie) Richards of Jamestown, OH; siblings- Jerry (Shortie) Diamond of Nowata, OK, Ruth Ann Diamond, of Alaska & Billy D. (Carol) Diamond, of Washington State and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and previous daughters-in-law- Carol Ewing, Michelle Devilbliss, Rhonda Stevens, Kim Ewing & Carla Ewing.

In addition to his parents and wife of 28 years, WD was preceded in death by step-son- Donald L. Ewing, sister- Evelyn Bromagen and brother- Donnie Diamond.
