Walter Riesen

Walter C. Riesen Jr., age 86, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Wednesday evening, June 7, 2017at Clinton Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 29, 1930 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, son of the late Walter Carl Riesen Sr. and Florence Wiant Riesen

Walter was a Veteran of the United States Marines, having served during the Korean conflict. He attended Purdue University. Walter worked at Alco in Richmond, Indiana from 1954 to 1986 then went to work at Packaging Resources in New Vienna from 1986 until retirement in 2001 as the Executive Vice President. He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed retirement.

Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Helyn Riesen of Wilmington,  son, Walter C. (Susan) Riesen III of Charlotteville, NY, daughter, Kerry (Steve) Houston of Springboro, OH, son, Russell (Cindy) Riesen of Columbus, OH,  granddaughter, Paige (Ray) Yaksic, grandson, Adam Houston, and his beloved dog, Toby.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Jack Riesen.

Private Graveside Services will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Fisher-Edington Funeral Home is serving the family.
