V. E. "Skip" Workman,
age 71, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, May 10, 2014 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born April 5, 1943 in New Burlington, Ohio, son of the late Virgil M & Isabell (Reed) Workman. On January 17, 1980 in Xenia, Ohio, he married Georgia Shope Casey.
Virgil retired from the ABF Freight Company as a foreman after 17 years of service. A member of the Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington, he loved to race at the KilKare race track.
In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his daughters- Becky (David) Thurman, Beavercreek, Nicole (Joe) Barker, Sherman, TX; Karen Workman, Rapid City, SD & Susan (Randy) Keffeler, Red Owl, SD; son- Mike Casey, Miamisburg; grandchildren- Austin (Channey) Keffeler, Jennifer (Mike) C'bonis, Mike (Jodie) Casey, Brandon Casey, Shannon, Jessie, & David Thurman, & Brandyn & Lena Barker; several great-grandchildren, 2 nephews- Tim Shepherd, Xenia, OH; Kelly Scott, Hillsboro, OH, & an aunt, Monica Reed.
In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by 2 sisters- Dianne Scott & Barbara Shepherd.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Bible Baptist Church, 2744 US Rte 22 & 3, Wilmington with Rev. Kelly McInerney and Pastor Phil Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the New Burlington Cemetery, New Burlington, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 11:00 until the time of the service at the church.
