Tom Goolsby, age 89 of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 in Hillsboro.
He was born in Lawrence County, Ohio the son of the late Charles W. and Ella McCoy Goolsby.
He had worked for several years as a barber in Hillsboro and had been a partner at Sherwood Auto before starting Westview Motors with his son Jim in 1972. Tom was also a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII and was a member of the Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Connie Goolsby of Hillsboro, a daughter-in-law, Bonnie
Goolsby of Gatlinburg, TN, six grandchildren, T.J. (Teresa) Goolsby, Jamie (Kelli) Goolsby, Greg (Laura) Goolsby, Anthony (Brenda) Goolsby, Angela (Donnie) Baldridge and Jennifer Gooding; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Also surviving are two brothers, Charles (Juanita} Goolsby of Mt. Orab, and Herman (Ruth) Goolsby, of Virginia.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife Marie Goolsby, and a son, Tommy Goolsby.
Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Friday, October 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the
Dunkard Ridge Cemetery where the Highland County Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
Friends will be received at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Ohio on Friday, 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.
