Thelma M. Halley, age 93, of Wilmington , OH, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Quaker Heights Care Community in Waynesville, OH.
She was born August 7, 1919 in Rutland, OH, daughter of the late James Earl Snyder and Ethel Amanda Bradford Snyder.
She was a member of Wilmington United Methodist Church for 52 years where she was a member and former president of the United Methodist Women, and had been a member of the choir. Thelma was also a member of the Emmaus Community, and had volunteered at the Clinton Memorial Hospital and Hospice.She had been employed as a secretary at Wilmington Middle School and the Wilmington High School for many years. She enjoyed playing golf and attending sporting events to watch her family's participation.
Surviving are son, Dr. Richard (Dr. Carol) Halley of GA, son, David Halley of Wilmington, OH, daughter, Linda Miller of Waynesville, OH, son, Michael (Susan) Halley of Wilmington, OH, son, John (Linda) Halley of Morrow, OH, son, Brad (Pam) Halley of Powell, OH. Also surviving are twenty three grandchildren, Jan, Kimbra, Sean, Dr. Josh, Marne, Tony, Chad, Tara, Josie, Katie, Nicholas, Patrick, Jacob, Lindsey, K.C., Tyler, Caitlin, Dillon, Jared, Angie, Michelle, Janette, and Michael. Twenty nine great grandchildren survive, Brittany, Ashley, Tarren, Isaac, Tabatha, Asa, Caurina, Garrett, Tayla, Luke, Elaina, Kristen, Melissa, Lilah, Matthew, Mia, Alexa, Natalie, Cameron, Evan, Andrew, Simon, Charles, Ethan, Jacob, Josh, Tyler, Bryden, and Reese, 4 great great grandchildren, Dominic, Gage, Kyler, and Sofia, also survive. Also a brother, Donald (Hazel) Snyder, of Arizona and a sister, Lois (Bill) Morrison Jacobs, of Columbus.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Myron Loren Halley, an infant son, Robert Halley, grandson, Zachary Halley, granddaughter, Paige Halley, son-in-law, Dr. Steve Miller, sister, Beatrice Spaulding, and a brother James Snyder . Thelma's family would like to express their gratitude to their Mother's caregiver, Jean Feldmeyer who gave excellent care to the loved one.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at Wilmington United Methodist Church, at with Rev. Dean Feldmeyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, OH.
Friends will be received at the church on Sunday, 5 - 7 p.m. .
