Susan Eileen Lowell, the daughter of the late T. Sanford and Mildred Haigh of the New Market area, was born on December 28, 1938 in Highland County, OH. Susan, a loving Christian mother, sister, and grandmother moved to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati after fighting the good fight, running her race, and obtaining her prize of eternal life with her Savior.
Susan was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Sandra Sue Burns, and her husband, Russell Lowell, whom she loved and cherished for many years. Along with many extended family members, Susan is survived by her sister, Martha L. Haigh of Hillsboro, OH, and her children: Larry E. Burns, Jr.(Susie Allen) of Hillsboro, OH, Thomas K. Burns of Columbus, OH, and Cindy (Burns) Seip of Frankfort, KY. In addition to her immediate family members, Susan is survived by her step-children: David and Teresa, and Bob and Lynn Lowell, all of Hillsboro, OH. Susan is also survived by seven grandchildren: Emily and Jefferson Seip, Tyler and Cody (Saundra) Burns, James, Levi, and Casey Burns, as well as two great grandchildren: Kennedy and Karlee Burns. Five step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins and friends.
When her own children were younger, Susan was very active in 4-H, touching the lives of young people in Highland County. Susan was a faithful and active member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, an active member of the Eastern Star, and served the community for many years as a teacher in the public school system. Susan retired after enhancing the lives of many young people in Highland County, as well as in Clinton County.
Funeral Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home Monday, December 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Pastor John Porter and Jim Bush officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugartree Ridge Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home on Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. There will be an Eastern Star service at 5:00 PM.
