Shirley Lakatos

December 23, 1929 — April 24, 2016

Shirley Conner Lakatos, age 86, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, April 24, 2016 surrounded by family.

She was born December 23, 1929 in Clinton County, OH, daughter of the late Burt William Conner  and Helen Stratton Conner.

Shirley was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she was an Elder Emeritus, and had been very active in several of the church activities. A 1951 graduate of Wilmington College, Shirley had been active with the Delta Omega Theta alumni organization and was a volunteer at the Alumni Office for several years. Mrs. Lakatos was also a charter member of the Clinton County Genealogical Society and was the regent for the George Clinton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving is her loving husband of 60 years, Charles L. Lakatos whom she married September 2, 1955, son & daughter-in-law, Carl William and Justine Lakatos of Milford, OH, two granddaughters, Amanda and Veronica as well as a niece, Diane and a nephew Jeffrey (Joan).

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Averill & David Bowen.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Sugar Grove Cemetery,  at 11:00 a.m.  with Pastor Tom Stephenson officiating.

No visitation is scheduled. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, is serving the family.
