Shirley Ann Camp,
Age 79, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, January 21, 2022 at home, surrounded by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
She was born January 14, 1943 in El Reno, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Marvin Lonzoe & Evelyn Faye (Baker) Slimp. On June 25, 1961 in Wilmington, she married Charles Robert "Bob" Camp, who preceded her in death on October 31, 2016. They had 55 wonderful entertaining years together.
She was raised in a military family and had many adventures due to the families travels. Shirley lived in Oklahoma, Mississippi, Texas, Alaska and Ohio. The last move to Ohio proved to be her biggest adventure as she met and married the love of her life. A 1961 Wilmington High School Graduate, Shirley enjoyed time with her children and husband. She worked at the Smith Place School in order to be home when her kids got home from school and part-time at the Murphy-Benham Hardware with her husband. She also spent many years working at Airborne and Walmart. Shirley was a hard working, loyal and giving person. Her blue eyes were vibrant to the end.
Surviving are her son- Rob (Terri) Camp, and daughter- Carol Lynne Camp, both of Wilmington; granddaughters- Brittanie (Alex) Bartlett & Courtnie (Derek) Hughes; 3 great-grandchildren- Tucker, Anslie, and Chloie; her siblings- Carol (Doyle) Stanley, Mary (Randy) Harmon, Sarah (David) McKeehan, Charley (DeAnn) Slimp; her in-laws- Jackie (Gary) Hampton, Paulette (Richard) Carter, Fred (Debbie) Camp, Gene Guzzi and Connie (Larry) Millard.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, January 31, 2022 at New Antioch Cemetery, 1101 Antioch Road, New Antioch, Ohio with Pastor David Van Hoose officiating. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements. A special thank you to Katy's Home Health Care, Ohio Living Hospice, and our dear friends. Contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to the Wilmington American Legion Post #49, 140 East Locust Street, Wilmington, Ohio 45177 in honor of her husband, Bob.
