Sandra Martin

Sandra L "Sarge" Magee Martin,
Age 73, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer, Friday evening, August 30, 2013 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro, Ohio.

She was born September 20, 1939 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, daughter of the late Elbert & Mattie Lee (Adams)  Magee.  On June 3, 1982 in Columbus, Ohio, she married Robert A. Martin, who survives in Hillsboro.  They were married for 31 years.

Mrs. Martin retired as the Clerical Staff Manager for State of Ohio Library.  She was a member of the Mowystown Church of Christ, Hillsboro Emblem Club, the Hillsboro Red Hat Society, Hillsboro Women's Club, the Thursday Bridge Club, and the Highland County Democratic Party.  Sarge volunteered at the Highland District Hospital and had been the clerk for the Highland County Realtors..

In addition to her husband, other surviving family members are her 2 sisters-Linda (Emmy) Emery of Hillsboro, OH, & Carolyn (Charlie) Walker of Hillsboro, OH; 2 brothers- Greg (Margaret) Magee of Hillsboro, OH, & Ron Magee of Hillsboro, OH; her 6 step-children- Robert A. (Blanche) Martin of Fresno, CA,  Debra S. (Jeff) Brown of Grove City, OH,  Gary L. (Julie) Martin of Columbus, OH,  Scott A. Easley of WA,  Mark E. Easley of Akron, OH, & Leisa A Waterhouse of Barnesville, OH; many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews, & great-nieces & great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her sister- Joyce Fender.

Funeral Services will be held 6:00 PM, Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main Street, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133 with Mr. Mark Magee officiating.
Friends will be received from 3-6 PM, Wednesday at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home.
