Ruth E. Hilterbrandt Stethem,
age 86, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Friday morning, September 23, 2011 at her residence.
She was born October 17, 1924 in Troy, OH, daughter of the late Harry Lester & Cora Jane (Selman) Walker. She married Eugene "Bud" Stethem, who survives.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 6710 Auxiliary, Wilmington, where she served as chaplain for many years and the Bible Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, other surviving family members are her son- James (Linda) Hilterbrandt, Wilmington; 2 daughters-Mary (Neal) Musselman, Wilmington & Elizabeth (Santos) Liscano, Vernon, TX; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren;and a brother- Donald (Sue) Walker, Xenia.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband- James Hilterbrandt, who died January 28, 1951; daughter- Janet Mangan; son- Michael Hilterbrandt; brother- Ernest Walker; & 3 sisters- Ruby Weller & Dorothy Hill & Helen Wallace.
Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington with Pastor Dan Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery, Bainbridge, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon, the time of services, on Tuesday, September 27, 2011.
