Ruth M. Johnson,
Age 78, of Wilmington, OH, passed away, Wednesday afternoon, January 18, 2012 at the Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, OH.
Mrs. Johnson was born June 28, 1933 in Xenia, OH, daughter of the late Ray & Martha (Gwynn) Scott. She graduated from Kingman High School and was a member of the Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she participated in the trustee and steward boards as well as the choir. She also farmed in Clinton County.
Surviving are her 4 sons- Michael Johnson, Middletown, Steve (Cindy) Johnson, Lebanon, Brian Johnson, Wilmington, & Ralph (Brandy) Burks, of Wilmington; 2 daughters- Joyce Johnson, Wilmington and Yolanda Hamilton, New Vienna; special sister- Katheryn Burks, Middletown; 6 grandchildren- Heather Burnette, Wilmigton, Steven II (Kelly) Johnson, Lebanon, Daniel (Erin) Johnson, West Chester & Danielle (Mike) Davis, Springboro, De Shawn Burks, Wilmington, & Kyre Burks, Wilmington; 4 great-grandsons; special nephews- Arthur Jordan Jr , Middletown, & Joseph Burks, Middletown; special friends- Judy Nevels, Wilmington, Brian Linnean Wilmington, and Jack Tussey, Middletown; and a host of other nephews, nieces, & friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Andrew S. Johnson and a grandson-Heath Johnson.
Services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, 50 North Lincoln Street, Wilmington with the Reverend Solomon Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington.
Friends will be received from 12 Noon until the time of services at the church.
