Ronald L. Swonger, 95, of Hillsboro, Ohio, died peacefully at his home on Friday morning, September l5th, 2017.
Ronald was born June 29, 1922 in Belfast, Ohio to Wilma and Alonzo Swonger. He graduated from Belfast High School. He also
graduated from Wilmington College in l947 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Ronald also proudly served our country during
World War II as a Marine. He was owner of Swonger Dairy, Inc. for many years. Ronald decided to return to college to achieve
his childhood dream of becoming an attorney. In l960 he received a Juris Doctor from Chase Law School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He
practiced as an attorney for 50 years in Hillsboro, Ohio until the age of 90. He was also an avid jogger and ran up until the age of 89.
Ronald was an inspiration to his family and all who had the good fortunate to know him. He is survived by his three daughters,
Deborah Cross of Lebanon, Ohio, Linda Hudec of Chillicothe, Ohio and Ronda Collins and her husband, Ronald Collins of Hillsboro,
Ohio; his stepson, David Tirey and step daughter, Elaine Head Williams and step-son, William Head; as well as 5 grandchildren, Paul Hudec of Columbus, Ohio,
Jennifer Spohn of Columbus, Ohio, April Lightle of Chillicothe, Ohio, Cody Brown of Hillsboro, Ohio and Macayla Brown of Hillsboro,
Ohio. Ronald also had an extended family consisting of nieces, nephews and great grand children. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kirchmeier, of Wilmington and a brother, Howard Swonger of Florida.
A memorial service for family members only will be held on Monday, Septemer l8th at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Ohio.
