Rodney Lee Custis,
Age 67, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 13, 2015 at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehab Center after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife- Linda (Harbert) Custis. They were married for over 47 years.
He was born March 2, 1947 in Wilmington, son of the late Thurman J. Custis & Betty J. (Wilson) Custis, of Wilmington. He graduated from Wilmington High School in 1965. Rod was active in the Air Force Reserves at the Clinton County Air Force Base from 1966-1972. He then went to work at the Ohio Department of Transportation retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of the BPO Elks#797, the American Legion Post #49 and Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid duck hunter, fisherman, & golfer.
In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his children- Chad C. (Nikki) Custis, Wilmington & Kelly R. (Mike) Hieatt, Sabina; grandchild- Carsyn L. Custis.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Friday, January 16 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington with Chaplain William Sangrey officiating. The Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will accord the military honors.
Friends will be received from 10 Am until 12 Noon, Friday at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
