Robert Elliott Warren of 175 Cape May Drive, Apt 103, Wilmington, Ohio died Sunday, September 11, 2011, at the age of 86. He was born March 30, 1925, the son of the late Luther E. Warren and Saretta Elliott Warren. He graduated from Alliance High School, Alliance, Ohio in 1943. He received a B.A. in psychology and economics/accounting in 1946 from Mt. Union College in Alliance, OH., and an MBA in Business Administration/ Accounting from Syracuse University in 1949. Robert worked as a college instructor, businessman, accountant, and ended his career with 27 years as assistant business manager at Wilmington College, retiring in 1987. He was an active member of Wilmington Friends Meeting. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, and served on the board of Blue Cross of Southwest Ohio. His wife, Beatrice, was a school teacher in several area schools teaching home economics, elementary, typing, government and other subjects. Robert enjoyed gardening at the house they helped build and lived in for 56 years at 451 High St. in Wilmington.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beatrice Walker Warren, his daughter, Teresa Warren Trierweiler of Indianapolis, IN; son, Roderick (Margaret) Warren of Columbus, OH, 3 grandchildren, Richard Trierweiler, Annette Trierweiler-Burdette, and Steven Warren, brother, William Warren, 4 nephews, and a niece. He was preceded in death by his sister Sara Lu Warren Ochoa.
Visitation with the family will be on Sunday September 18, 2011 from 2:00 to 3:00 at the McCoy Room in Kelly Center on the Wilmington College campus (on College Street). All are welcome at the Memorial Service that will be held on the same day starting at 3:00 in the McCoy room in Kelly Center. Burial of cremation ashes will be done at a later date in a private family service at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Warren Family Endowed Scholarship Fund at Wilmington College (Office of College Advancement, 1870 Quaker Way, Wilmington, OH 45177), or to the Endowment Fund of Wilmington Friends Meeting (66 N. Mulberry St., Wilmington, OH 45177).
