Robert Kelley

Robert Lee Kelley,
Age 87, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away late Sunday night, February 19, 2023 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.
He was born January 17, 1936 in Wilmington, son of the late Harold Henry Kelley, who died in the Battle of the Bulge on Christmas Eve 1944,  and Mozelle Adena Botts Kelley, who died in 1988.  His first wife- Harpa J. Kelley, died in 2005.  On May 20, 2006 in Wilmington, he then married Virginia Nell Jones Kelley, who passed on June 18, 2020.
Bob attended Wilmington City Schools through the ninth grade and then went to Norwood High School and graduated in 1954. Bob had served in the National Guard in Blanchester for a short time.  He had worked for Western Union and then retired from the City of Kettering after over 25 years of service. He then became a Cab Driver for City of Wilmington for a number of years.
He was a member for many years at the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, Wilmington and the Sons of the American Legion- American Legion Post #49, Wilmington.
Surviving are his daughter- Catherine Loper of Dayton, OH; step-daughter- Marci Morse of Wilmington;  grandson- John Robert Kelley; 2 special nieces- Mary Ellen (Allen) Testerman & Jenny Hall, both of Galax, VA; and special neighbor- Kelly Anthony.
In addition to his parents and wives, Bob was preceded in death by his son- Robert Kelley II; his Kelley uncles- Robert Earl, Virgil, & Norman Kelley; aunt Dorothy Kelley; and his Botts uncles- Robert, Bill and Virgil Lee Botts.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington with Pastor Connor Thompson & Chaplain Bob Baker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio, where the Wilmington American Legion Honor Guard will accord burial services.

Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday, Feb. 23 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
