Robert Lee Brandenstein,
82, of Morrow, OH, passed away, Friday morning, February 21, 2014 at his residence.
A long time resident of Warren County, he was born February 19, 1932 in Dayton, OH, son of Charles & Lotie (O'Neil) Brandenstein. On December 9, 1995 in Wilmington, he married Violet J. Hayslip, who survives.
A US Army Korean War Veteran, who served in tank division as a sergeant, Robert retired as a Corrections Officer for Lebanon Correctional Institute after 30 years of service. After retirement, he worked as the gatekeeper at the Fort Ancient Museum, the Maineville Krogers and the Morrow Family Dollar.
He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his 3 children- Vicki Howard, Deidre Liddil, & Keith (Tonya) Brandenstein; 5 step-children- Larry Hayslip, Michael Walls, Gregory Walls, Candace Allen, & David Walls; 7 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 step-greatgrandchildren; & 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son- Steven Brandenstein; a step-son- Scott Walls; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Bethany Baptist Church, 10156 St. Rte 350, Clarksville with Pastor Tom Chattin officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarksville Cemetery. The Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will accord full military honors
Friends will be received from 10 AM until 11 AM, Monday at the church.
