Richard D. Achor, age 77, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Saturday April 30, 2022 in Wilmington, OH.
He was born July 12, 1944 in Hillsboro, OH, son of the late William Carl Achor and Olive Lavon Edenfield Achor.
Richard graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1962, then went on to Eastern Kentucky University to receive his Bachelor's Degree and to Xavier University, where he obtained his Master's Degree. He taught for 35 years, the first 7 years were at Wilmington High School then he went to Southern State Community College, North Campus for the remaining 28 years. Richard was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church and the Wilmington Lion's Club.
Surviving is his sister, Virginia (Jay) Maurer of Troy, sister-in-law, Carlene Achor, Hillsboro, 5 nieces & nephews, Janet (Steve) Davis, Sue (Don) Webster, Lance Reno, Mark (Gina) Reno and Kristen (Frank) Mazzucco, 12 great nieces and nephews and three great-great- nieces.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his Brother, Ivan Achor.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wednesday May 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dean Feldmeyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio.
Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, Wednesday, May 4, 2022, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
