Retta A Long

 Retta Ann Long, 

Age 72, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away Friday morning, June 21, 2024 at the Hospice of Dayton surrounded by her loved ones.

 She was born March 26, 1952 in Jamestown, OH, daughter of the late Ivan Ray Tidd and Betty Louise Milstead. On April 28, 1990 at the Grape Grove Church of Christ, Jamestown, she married Philip B. Long, who survives.

 She was a member of Grape Grove Church of Christ, where she had been a life long and active member; a 1970 Greenview High School Graduate and had retired from the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base after 23 years of service. Retta volunteered at the Jamestown food pantry. She wasn't on facebook, but when her sister would see something on there about family, Retta would be sure to call and get the scoop on what was happening. She had amazing Christmas dinners where she would have the grandchildren take a Christmas quiz and pay them for each correct answer. All of this to make sure they remembered the true meaning of Christmas. She deeply loved all of her children and grandchildren.

 In addition to her husband, other surviving family are her children- Ryan (Heather), Jonathan (Tommie), Bradley (Ashley). Stepchildren- Lance (Christie) and Darla; Grandchildren- Kaitlynn, Christian, Blake, Aryane, Jorden, Jonathan Jr, Emma. Step grandchildren- Lexi, Jalen, Holly, Amber, Kelly, Dennis. Great grandaughter Izzy; Siblings- James A Tidd, Gary R Tidd (Lynn), Mike I Tidd, and Mary L Tidd.  In addition to her parents, Retta was preceded in death by her dear sister-in-law- Vicki Tidd.

 Funeral Services will be held 12:30 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Grape Grove Church of Christ, 6626 Grape Grove Road, Jamestown with Preacher Bill Lott & Minister Jordan Kattine co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Grape Grove Cemetery. 

 Friends will be received from 10 AM until the start of services, on Wednesday, June 26 at the church. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, Ohio is assisting the family.   Special thanks to her niece, Jamie for all the love and assistance she provided these past several months.  And a thank you to all her doctors, nurses, therapists, aides and Ohio's Hospice-Dayton for their loving care
