McDONALD, Paul J, died at home surrounded by his adoring family on Sunday, January 28 at age 76 years, 10 months after a long and valiant battle against cancer. He was born April 18, 1941 in Ravenna Ohio to John and Bertha (Fullenkamp) McDonald. He attended Saint Mary’s Elementary and graduated from Chaminade High School in 1959. He married Nancy Koerner in 1962 at Saint Helen Catholic Church and started a family. He became an electrician enjoying a 39 year career working on large construction projects and was a highly respected member of the IBEW Local Union 82. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy, his brother Mike (Joanie) McDonald, sisters Susie (Jim) Laurie and Nancy (Larry) Overmire, brother in law John Koerner, four children: Pam (Steve) Wrobel, Scott (Traci) McDonald, Kathleen (Byron) McCrabb, and Julie (Bart) Wagner; 12 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great grandchild on the way and numerous nephews and nieces. He was a member of the Greene County Fish & Game Club and a parishioner of Saint Columbkille Parish. Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, playing golf and games of all types and was amazingly skilled at darts. But his favorite activity was anything that would put him with his family and especially the grandchildren who loved him as much as he loved them. Even the great-grandchildren had nick names for him and would run to greet him with smiles and hugs. He could be counted on to make every family milestone or event a time to remember. No matter what challenges life threw at him, he showed us by example how to always fight with courage and humor. His audition for eternal life was a huge success. He will always be our TOUGH DADDY.
