Oscar Harvey Parshall, age 102, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Sunday morning, March 1, 2015 at the Salyer Home in Hillsboro, Ohio.

He was born July 29, 1912 in Leesburg, OH, son of the late William Harley and Lida Mae (Harvey) Parshall. On June 28, 1934 at the Methodist Parsonage in Hillsboro, he married Pearl Leota (Gleadall) Parshall, who preceded him in death on August 24, 2001.  They were married for 67 years.

Oscar farmed with his wife, Pearl, in Highland county for over 60 years. He took great pride and pleasure in his farm, from husking corn, milking cows, raising steers and chickens, butchering meat for family and friends, cutting trees for his wood stove and hunting for mushrooms.  In addition, he had a large garden and gave away many vegetables and fruits to friends and family. He planted peanuts for 30 years and he shared with them at the Fall Creek Friends yearly pancake supper.
He enjoyed performing magic tricks for children of all ages.  From the members of Hillsboro Senior Citizen Center, children and friends at his church and in his neighborhood to his relatives, nieces and nephews, he loved entertaining people and seeing smiles on faces.  As his hobby, he made little trinkets, tool boxes and toys out of wood. He loved telling stories and jokes to everyone he met. Making people laugh brought him much joy. He helped many years with the Wilson Real Estate auctions and had an appreciation for things of the past.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Canada, Europe, Mexico, the Holy Lands, and to every state except Hawaii.
Oscar was a member of the Fall Creek Friends Meeting, where he was an active member including being superintendent for twenty-five years, clerk of Ministry and Council, clerk of Monthly Meeting, Trustee of Falls Creek Meeting, Building Committee member, president of Quaker Meeting for one year, Quarterly President for one year, Quaker Camp Board at Camp Knoll for several years. He suggested purchasing an organ for the church. He started the Pancake Supper and assisted with it for 41 years.

Surviving are many nieces & nephews.
