Opal Iva Wieg, age 64, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2016, in the comfort of her home after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Opal was born on July 25, 1952 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Earl and Elizabeth Davis. Opal graduated from Minford High School and married her husband of 46 years, Joachim (Joe) Wieg.
Opal enjoyed gardening, shopping and spending most of her time doting over her granddaughters, Raven and Violet. They will deeply miss their oma.
Opal is survived by spouse Joe Wieg, son Joachim Wieg, daughters Christina Wieg, Angela Ambler Wieg Bland, Cindy Copeland, and their children, brothers Edward Davis, Ben Davis, and sisters Lena Weber, Lisa Gilpin, Hattie Robinson, Flora Kane (and their respective families) and many other family and friends.
Cremation services are being handled by Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home of Wilmington, Ohio. A private memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
