Ona Dell Shaw,
age 83, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away, Wednesday night, August 3, 2016 at the Hospice of Dayton House.
She was born July 22, 1933 in Lerose, Kentucky, daughter of the late Cuba Lee & Effie Marie (Spencer) Amburgy. On September 25, 1954 in Xenia, Ohio, she married Cecil C. Shaw, who passed away October 24, 2012.
Ona worked as a minister for the Church of God and had been a member of the Xenia Church of God, the Port William Senior Citizens Center and the Clinton County Republican Ladies. In her youth, she loved singing with her family group- The Amburgy Sisters.
Surviving are her children- Jacqueline (Roger) Frommling of Clarksville, OH, Jeff (Shelley) Shaw, Wilmington, Phillip (Diana) Shaw of Xenia, OH; grandchildren- Jared (Holly) Dare, Sarah (Duran) Shields, Andrew (Lauren) Patterson, Jocelyn Shaw-Cubbage & Kristi (Stefan) Harbison; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters- Earl Amburgy, Virgil Amburgy, Eula Dare, Ina Taylor (Twin Sister), Linda Grooms, Sue Johnson, Bob Amburgy, & Rose Bailey; and son-in-law- Charles Skidmore, Wilmington.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ona was preceded in death by her daughter- Vivian Skidmore and brothers and sister- Russell Amburgy, Willard Amburgy, & Jean Souther.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington with Mr. Phillip Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington.
Friends will be received from 10 AM to 11 AM at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, OH .
