Montie Clarence Brofft Jr.,age 58, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away early Thursday morning, August 13, 2015 in Orange Park, FL after a 14 year long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 24, 1957 in Chillicothe, OH, son of Montie Clarence Brofft Sr. and Naomi Blanche Earley Bland.
Montie worked with Acousti Engineering for more than 30 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Montie also loved spending time with his side kick and grandson Brian Brofft Jr and with his youngest grandson Liam Hartman.
In addition to his mother and grandsons, other surviving family members include his two daughters, Brandy (Chad) Brofft Hartman of Middleburg, FL and Lori Brofft of Colorado Springs, CO, brother, Bret Brofft of Goldsboro, NC, sister, Karen (Jeff) Jacobs of Laurelville, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Montie was preceded in death by his wife, Cheri Kim Ferguson Brofft and a son, Brian Patrick Brofft.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 17, 2015 at New Market Baptist Cemetery.
Rhoads-Edgington Funeral is serving the family.
