Michael J. Brown,
age 76, of Wilmington, Ohio, went into God's loving arms, Tuesday night, June 23, 2015 surrounded by his family at his home after an eight month battle with lung cancer.
He was born November 10, 1938, in Circleville, Ohio son of the late Charles T. & Grace B. Shirey Brown.
He is survived by his wife- Rheada Jean (Collins) Brown. He loved and adored his wife of 53 years of marriage. The two of them raised two beautiful daughters- Mindy S. (Randy) Pinkerton and Michele M. Stewart, both of Wilmington. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the US Army from 1956 to 1959. Once he left the Army, he moved to Wilmington where he met his loving wife to be, with whom he married on August 11, 1962. After being married, he joined the Ohio National Guard and served them until 1988, when he retired as a Master Sergeant. He worked and retired from General Motors after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a dedicated member of the Praise and Worship Center in Lebanon, Ohio for over 20 years. Above everything else, he loved, served and adored his family. He instilled great Godly wisdom and guidance until his last moments on earth.
He is survived by 5 grandchildren- Jessica Stewart, Jordan Stewart, Josh Pinkerton, Julian Stewart & Clayton Stewart, all of Wilmington; 2 great-grandchildren- Zaniah & Nyomi; 4 brothers & 3 sisters- Larry R. (Gloria) Brown, Robert C. (Candi) Brown, Charles T. "C.T." (Tammy) Brown, Barbara L. Pate, Mary Lou Hamilton, Dianne Cothren, & Ted (Nancy) Brown.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law- Miriam A. (Snyder) Collins and George O. Collins, both of Wilmington.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, where the Wilmington American Legion Memorial Squad will conduct full military honors.
Friends will be received from 11:00 AM until the time of services at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
