Mary King Gray

Mary King "Kingie" Bradley Gray,
Age  94, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away on January 20, 2023 at 11 PM in the Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
She was born June 21, 1928 in Harrisburg, PA, daughter of  the late Thomas O. & Margaret (Small) Bradley.  On October 16, 1948, she married Prescott Brooke Gray, who passed on November 30, 2009.  Mary King grew up in Zanesville, Ohio and graduated from Lash High School, Meredith Business College and attended The Ohio State University.
The Grays moved to Wilmington in 1956.  Mary King was active as a Cub Scout Den Mother for both sons.  She became the Welcome Wagon Hostess in 1968 and started the Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club which met for many years.  She was the owner of Julia's Cheeser Cheese Shop from 1982 to 1991.
Mary King was a former member of the Young Mothers Club for 45 years, George Clinton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and George Bolling Chapter of the American Colonists.  In recent years, she was a member of the Progress Club, Wilmington United Methodist Church, and the Friends of the Wilmington Public Library.  She also worked part-time at Peebles Department Store, retiring at the age of 78.

Surviving are her son- Tom (Lisa) Gray of Columbus, OH; granddaughters- Dr. Sarah (Michael) Alquist of Cleveland, OH, & Megan (Kaan Ozadali) Gray of Carmel, IN; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son- Stephen Bradley Gray; and  sisters- Frances Pettengill & Jane Bradley.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Truesdell Street, Wilmington, with Pastor Scott Miller officiating.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
