Mary B. Vance,
age 92, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, Ohio.
She was born August 12, 1920 in Greene County, Ohio the daughter of the late Stephen & Nettie (Shrack) Brown. On May 28, 1944 in Wilmington, she married Rendell J. Vance, who died June 19, 2009.
Mrs. Vance retired as a school teacher, having taught at the New Vienna Schools and the Wilmington City Schools. A graduate of Wilmington College, where she participated in the Zeta Sigma Pi, the National Honorary Social Science Fraternity, she was a member of New Antioch Church of Christ, the Home Economic Club, New Antioch Grange, and the Clinton County Farm Bureau Council.

Surviving is her daughter, Bonnie (Bill) Schreiner, of Rising Sun, IN, two sons- Jim (Kathy) Vance and Theodore (Tammy) Vance both of Wilmington, OH, seven grandchildren- Ben (Yvonne) Vance, Stuart Vance, Peter (Maggie) Vance, J. W. (Jaimie) Vance, Anthony (Tosha) Freeze, & Rylee Ward, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers- Stephen Brown, Edmund Brown, Henry Brown, & Lester Brown and 3 sisters- Carroll Allen, Edith Shanks, & Pauline Brown.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington. Chaplain Rick Godlove officiating. Interment will follow in the New Antioch Cemetery, New Antioch, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
