Margene Harden,
Age 96, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday afternoon, January 24, 2017 at home.
She was born July 1, 1920 in Sardinia, OH, daughter of the late John & Lizzie Overture (Lightfoot) Curtis. She married Preston Harden, Sr., who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Wilmington Zion Hill Church of God.
Surviving are her daughter- Gustelia Scott of Wilmington; son- Preston (Sally) Harden JR of Decatur, GA; special granddaughter- Toyia Scott; granddaughters- Tenica Harden, LaKiesha Harden, Sharita Adams, & Rachelle McKee; 8 great-grandsons; One great-great-granddaughter; sisters- Ethel Medley & Frances Hill, both of Wilmington and special niece- Patricia Tribune.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margene was preceded in death by her daughter- Julia Ann Porter; brothers- Orville, Charles, Hayes, Warren, June & Eddie Curtis; and sisters- Eleanor Hudson, Lucille Spradley, & Vera Curtis.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Bible Missionary Baptist Church, 243 Grant Street, Wilmington with Pastor Kurtis Summerville officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 12 Noon until the time of services at the Bible Missionary Baptist Church. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
