Margaret Eppel

Margaret Z. Eppel, 94, of Pontiac, IL formerly of Chenoa, IL and Chicago,IL. passed away Monday, March 27, 2020 at 3:45 pm at Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac, IL.
The family burial will be held in Clinton County Memory Gardens in Wilmington, Ohio on Friday, May 1, 2020. Memorials in honor of Margaret may be made to the Diabetic Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
Margaret was born January 28, 1926 in West Union, Ohio, a daughter of Oliver B. and Georgia (Hardy) Stewart. She married Frederick Eppel on March 30, 1985 in Graymont, IL. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1994.
Surviving is a brother, Chester Stewart of Ohio; niece, Cynthia (Tony) Arrigo of Pontiac and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Phoeba Stewart; Verna Brown of Tucson, Arizona, Barbara Jane Stewart of Wilmington, Ohio; brothers, Taylor Stewart of Huntington Beach, West Virgina, Russell Stewart of Chesapeake, Ohio, Theodore Stewart of Wilmington, Ohio, Paul Stewart of Washington, Ohio, George Stewart of Wilmington, Ohio, Roy Stewart of Ohio.
She loved quilting, living on the farm, horses and dogs. She also enjoyed going out to restaurants with family and friends. She especially enjoyed eating at the Beef House. Margaret always remembered the kindness of the waitresses at Bernardi’s in Pontiac for bringing her a much appreciated steak dinner.
She worked at general finance in Evanston, IL for many years.
