Mabel Lewis Green, age 94, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Heartland of Hillsboro in Hillsboro, OH.
She was born May 27, 1919 in Highland County, OH, daughter of the late Charles Vance and Anna Ward Vance.
Mabel worked in nursing and was a former employee at Oakland Care Center and had retired from the Highland District Hospital.
She was a member of Highland County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Charles) Griffith of Hillsboro, son, Bill (Jean) Lewis of Lebanon, OH, two sisters, Jean Withrow and Doris Green both of Xenia, 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great- grandchildren .
In addition to her parents Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Lewis, two sons, David Lewis and Jack Lewis ,a great-granddaughter, Shannon Surface, 5 brothers & 2 sisters.
Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Larry Herdman officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery near Taylorsville, Ohio.
Friends will be received at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home on Friday, 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00.
