L. Joan Bright, age 76, of Wilmington, OH, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at her residence. She was a devout wife, homemaker and mother who loved her family very much.
She was born May 7, 1939 in Wilmington, OH, daughter of the late Lehman Clark Walker and Sarah Louise Collins Walker.
She was a member of Chester Township-New Burlington Auxilliary and Springfield Friends Meeting. She had retired from the Dietary Department at Clinton Memorial Hospital after several years of service.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Katherine (Carl) Bright Nissen of Polson, Montana, Karen Bright Williamson of Xenia, OH, six grandchildren, Ben (Jessica) Williamson, Nick Williamson, Sam Williamson, Sarah Martin, Jessica Martin, and Rebecca Martin. Also surviving are three great grandchildren, two brothers, Donald (Peggy) Walker of Lynchburg, and Richard (Shirley) Walker of Hillsboro, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Bright, a brother, Howard Walker, and a sister, Betty Van Winkle.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, with Pastors Mike and Nancy McCormick officiating. Interment will follow in the Springfield Friends Cemetery.
Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home Wednesday, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
