Lewis Maxfield, age 78, of Clarksville, OH, passed away early Thursday morning, September 29, 2011 at the Continental Manor in Blanchester, OH.
He was born May 29, 1933 in Mt. Sterling, OH, son of the late Charles Maxfield and Mary Shaw Maxfield .
Lewis worked as a truck driver for CCPI of Blanchester and had retired in 1996 .
He was a member of Wilmington American Legion Post #6710 and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War where he was in a tank division.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Nancy Whitt Maxfield of Clarksville, two step-children, Gary Carpenter of Cincinnati, Cheryl Browning of Fairborn, grandson, Dale Browning, of Kansas, and a niece, Diana Mobley , of Blanchester.
In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by two sons, Douglas and Charles, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Speelman officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton County Memory Gardens, Wilmington, Ohio where the Wilmington American Legion Memorial Squad will conduct full military honors.
Friends will be received Sunday, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, OH .
