Laura Louise Butler Blackwell, 90, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of James Wilson “J. W.” Blackwell, died Saturday evening, April 11, 2015, at Quaker Heights Nursing Home in Waynesville, Ohio.
Born in Russellville, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Butler and the late Ethel Kendrick Butler. Mrs. Blackwell was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are one daughter, Pamela Coley and her husband, Darrell; one son, David Blackwell and his wife, Lisa; four grandchildren, Sherry Ratliff, Bridgett Bland, Chad Blackwell and Jonas Blackwell; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Sara Lowrimore and Barbara Potter.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock Wednesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Pastor R. Scott Speer. Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park – East.
