Kurtis L. Morgan, age 22, of Seaman, Ohio, died Saturday, August 24, 2013 as the result of an accident in Tiffin, OH.
He was born April 28, 1991 in Georgetown, OH.
He was a member of Sugartree Ridge Church of Christ, Ohio National Guard where he had just received a promotion to Sergeant the day of the accident, and had served a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Kurtis was also a graduate of Whiteoak High School Class of 2009, and had just graduated from UC Clermont College Police Academy and was POTA certified.
Surviving is his wife, Amber N. Morgan whom he married May 21, 2011, His parents, David & Kayce Morgan of Hillsboro, Michelle & Kent Knoblauch of Hillsboro, father & mother-in-law, Mike & Lori Oney of Seaman, brother, Dakota Morgan of Hillsboro, step-sister, Kody Knoblauch of Hillsboro, brother-in-law, Steven Oney of FL, grandparents, Harry Delano & Donna Morgan of Hillsboro, grandmother, Linda Halley of Dayton, great-grandmother, Jewell Lee of Dayton, and grandparents, Patricia and Gale Hamilton.
Kurtis was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Halley.
A memorial service will be held at Whiteoak High School, Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rob Rhodes officiating. The Ohio National Guard Funeral Honors Squad will conduct full military honors. Following the service a memorial reception will be held in the Student Center of the high school.
Friends will be received at the high school Saturday 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
