Kay Hofer

 Clareen Kay Hofer,


A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born on October 2, 1943 to Earl & Mabel Adams, of Clinton County Ohio. She graced the world for 81 years, leaving behind a legacy characterized by her kindness, loving heart and welcoming spirit. Clareen, affectionately known as “Kay” to those who loved and cherished her, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband of 63 years and other loving family members. 


Kay was a proud graduate of Clarksville High School in 1961. Kay worked at the Xenia Ave Market for many years and also dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a caregiver. She was an amazing mother, wonderful wife and faithful to her God. She attended the Fellowship of Praise Church as often as her health allowed her to. 


Family was at the heart of Kay‘s life. She took immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She cherished each moment spent with them. Her family often reflected on her ability to make every gathering brighter and filled with love. She is survived by her devoted husband James Lee, her loving daughter Gina, and loving son Jimi (Julie). Additionally, her legacy continues through her cherished siblings: Robert (Wanda), Joe (Karen) and Chris (Mary) Adams and sister Linda Whitaker. Her grandchildren, Rhianna (Josh) Clay, Russell (Kesha) Vance, Traci (Wes) Sandlin and Dylan (Samantha) Hofer, 9 great grandkids and 1 on the way in November. Along with many nieces, nephews, and her beloved caretaker Amber Shumaker, whom she came to love like family.


In addition to her parents, Kay was proceeded in death by her granddaughter Tessa Hicks whose memory she held dear. Her brother Dale Adams and brother-in-law Art Whitaker. 


A celebration of life honoring Clareen Kay Hofer will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 1p-6p. Location is Vernon Township Hall (a.k.a. Clarksville Gym) 228 E Main st ( ST RT 350) Clarksville Ohio. 


Family and friends are welcome to gather together to share stories, laughter, and memories of a woman who brought light into our lives. 


Her spirit lives on in all the hearts who knew her, reminding us of the beauty of kindness, and the importance of family. Kay’s welcoming nature and unwavering love will always be remembered as the greatest gift she offered to those fortunate enough to call her family and friend. 


Let’s come together to show support for her family and one another to celebrate and remember this remarkable woman.
