Kathern Ann Dillon, age 72, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
She was born April 11, 1949 in Fairborn, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert Hart Sr. and Nannie Herley Hart.
Kathern was a member of Carpenter House of Prayer and had retired from Heartland of Hillsboro after 23 years of dedicated service as their activities director. She enjoyed doing community service projects and volunteering. Kathern was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, loved shopping and going on vacations. Her greatest joy was family gatherings and attending the sporting events for the grandchildren.
Surviving are her four children, Rick (Teresa) Edwards, Brian (Julie Neu) Dillon, Lydia (Rick) Lovely, and Malissa Dillon-Helterbrand, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two brothers, Edward (Betty) Whitt and Robert Hart Jr., four sisters, Elva (Gene) Bates, Marjorie Stroop, Barbara McEvoy, and Judy (Randy) Ferguson, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Kathern was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Dillon, son, John Bradley Dillon, granddaughter, Tyfannie Edwards, brother, Mora Hart, and a brother-in-law, Henry Stroop.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St. Hillsboro with Pastor Alicia Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Contributions may be made to the Special Olympics.
