Kash Gilbert

Kash Day Gilbert,
Age 84, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away late Wednesday night, May 4, 2022 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born February 16, 1938 in Jackson, Kentucky, son of  the late John & Florence Edna (Johnson) Gilbert.  After his mother died, he had a step-mother, Myrtie (Belcher) Gilbert.  On August 25, 1962 in Wilmington, he married Ellen Carter (Pidgeon) Gilbert, who survives.
Kash graduated from Kings Mills High School in 1957.  He worked as a butcher at Steger's Market in South Lebanon, OH, as a barber in Lebanon, Ohio and as a material handler at the Ford Motor Company in Sharonville  for over 36 years.
In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his son- Jonathan Carter Gilbert, Wilmington; In-laws- Charlotte Gilbert, Rachel Pidgeon, Margaret Raabe; Stephen and Sandy Pidgeon; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and step-mother, Kash was preceded in death by his parents-in-law- George C. & Ruth (Denny) Pidgeon; and 6 brothers and sisters- Earl, Roy, Laura, Lorraine, Edna, Dee & Bill.
The Family will receive friends from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Chester Friends Meeting, 3463 Guerneyville Road, Wilimington, followed by a Funeral Service with Pastors Mike and Nancy McCormick officiating.  Interment will follow in the Miami-Corwin Cemetery, Corwin, Ohio.  Pallbearers are Doug Pidgeon, Mark Gilbert, Matthew Raabe, John Denny, Jacob Shambrock, & John Steger.  Honorary Pallbearer is Stephen Pidgeon.  The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
