Julienne Henry Nichols,
Age 91, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 3, 2011 at her residence in Wilmington, Ohio.
She was born in 1920 to Roy Henry Sr and Mabel Sarah Babb Henry at the Henry Farm in Clinton County, OH.
Julienne attended Wilmington Schools starting with Clinton Station and graduating from Wilmington High School in 1938. She worked as a secretary and salesperson in the Wilmington downtown area for many years. During her employment with Wilmington College, she was awarded a plaque for her outstanding contributions. She had also worked as a switchboard operator for Airborne Express in the latter years of her life.
She was an active volunteer in 4H, Girl Scouts, and the PTA when her children were growing up. She also did volunteer work with the American Cancer Society, Seniors and was a defender and caregiver of animals that she often rescued and loved. Julienne was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church,.
Surviving are Daughter, Anita (Jeffrey) Slone of Wilmington, Ohio, Daughter, Monica (James) Horn of La Crescenta, CA, Step-Grandson, John Micah Slone. Julienne's greatest joy in life was her family and her love of friends and people she talked to everywhere she went. Her joy of life will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Julienne was preceded in death by her husband- John E. Nichols, whom she married in 1943 and passed away in 2010; son- John Craig Nichols, in 1965 from cancer; and 2 brothers- James Henry & Roy Henry Jr.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, with Rev. Dan Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, OH.
Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, OH from 1 - 2 PM, Wednesday..
