John "Jack" William Haley, age 77
Jack passed away from this life on a journey to a better life on Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2014 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. Jack was born December 3, 1937 in Port William, Ohio to the late Robert C. & Ellen (Waldren) Haley. He grew up and went to school in Port William. On September 1, 1954 in Wilmington, he married Nancy Ann Cummins Haley, who survives, and they have 5 wonderful children- Tim (Jean) Haley, Anne (Darrell) Smith, Tony (Pam) Haley, John (Carol) Haley, and Amy (Rick) Wilson. His much loved grandchildren are: Blake Haley, Brianne (Bobby) Miller, Spenser Haley Smith, Ryan Haley, Parker Haley, Kelli Jo Haley, Jill Setty, Lacy Haley, A.J. Haley, & Jason William Wilson. His precious great-grandchildren are: Karizma Setty & Brycen Haley. Jack leaves behind his sister- Rita Ann Haley Butcher and brothers- Jim Haley and Pat (Brenda) Haley.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother- Kevin Haley.
Jack was a devout Catholic and was a member of the St. Columbkille Catholic Church. He loved his family and sports, both playing and watching. He was proud of his induction into the Clinton County Sports Hall of Fame. In 1985, he retired as a policeman from the City of Wilmington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, with Rev. Michael J. Holloran officiating. Interment will follow in the Port William Cemetery, Port Willliam, Ohio. After the Burial Services, the family will greet friends at the Catholic Church Parish Hall Lower Level for food and fellowship.
