John Williamson Jr.,
age 95, of Wilmington, Ohio, went to his eternal home with Jesus, Friday morning, July 30, 2021 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born May 24, 1926 in Pike County, Ohio, son of John  & Florence Helen (Smart) Williamson Sr.  On June 25, 1946, he married Marie (Hoffer) Williamson at the home of her parents in New Burlington, Ohio.  They celebrated 75 years together living in Clinton County.  He served in the US Army in World War II.  He retired from Bush Auto Group after 60 years with the same organization.  Originally, Brandenburgs with Bill McCoy in the early 1950's, then Jim Cook, and retiring from Bush Chevrolet & Buick dealership.  He was well respected for his workmanship and made many life-long friends.  After retiring, his favorite thing to do was spend time in the outdoors enjoying God's Creation.  He loved his family, his church (First Church of God, A Street,Wilmington), where he served on the board for several years, and he liked being an usher.  He was a quiet man who did not seek the limelight.
In addition to his wife, other surviving family are his son- Kenny (Marilyn) Williamson, Clarksville;  two grandchildren- Tracy (Shawn) Hughes and Ryan (Connie) Williamson; six great-grandchildren- Alexandria Hughes, Aaron Hughes, Evan Williamson, Ava Williamson, Haley Williamson, and Gavin Williamson; sister- Irma Peyton;  and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by daughter, Joyce Williamson Conley, who passed in 1968, and 4 brothers- Eugene, William, Cecil, & Earl Williamson.
Funeral Services will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home 97 W. Locust St. at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, with Pastor Andy Christiansen officiating.  Interment will follow in the Springfield Friends Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.  Masks and social distancing are politely requested.
