John H. Bright, age 82, of Wilmington, OH, passed away  January 29, 2013 at the Dayton V.A. Medical Center in Dayton, OH.

He was born November 9, 1930 in Wilmington, OH, son of the late Floyd Prickett Bright  and Kathleen Gerhart Bright .

John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, target practice, camping and aircraft. He was employed as an aircraft mechanic at Clinton County Air Force Base, Wright Patterson Air Force Base and retired in 1977.

He was a  graduate of Adams High School Class of 1948; attended Wilmington College for two years; owned and operated the Village Repair Shop from 1979 - 1992;  was a member of the Wilmington American legion Post #49, and was a member of Springfield Friends Meeting.

Surviving is his  wife, L. Joan Bright of Wilmington, whom he married in 1958, two daughters, Mary Katherine Bright Nissen of Polson, Montana , Karen L. Williamson of Xenia, 6 grandchildren, Jessica Kathleen (Tyrone) Anderson, Sarah Grace Martin, Rebecca Anne (Madison) Martin-Litteral, Benjamin (Jessica) Williamson, Nicholas Williamson, and Samuel Williamson. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Lauren Jones and Elijah Anderson.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike McCormick officiating.  Interment will follow in the Springfield Friends Cemetery, where the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will conduct full military honors.

Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Friday, Feb. 1, 2012, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. .
