Joan Spurgeon, age 82, of Mowrystown, Ohio, died early Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center as the result of a stroke she suffered on September 12.
She was born July 7, 1930 in Lynchburg, OH, daughter of the late Gleason Lewis and Anna Viola Hart Lewis.
Surviving are daughter, Susan (Donnie) Ruble of Mowrystown, OH, daughter, Debbie (Chuck) Hicks of Florence, KY, son, David (Robyn) Spurgeon of Sabina, OH, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren .
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Russel Spurgeon.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
