Joan Mary Bollenbacher, age 84, of Celina, Ohio, died October 4, 2017 at 5:55 am at the Miller Place in Celina. She was born July 6, 1933 in New Bremen, Ohio, to the late Willis W. and Irene E. (Neuman) Moeller. On November 20, 1981 she married Ed Bollenbacher, and he preceded her in death on July 22, 2006.
Survivors include three sons, Brad (Patty) James, Toledo, Ohio, Bruce (Mary) James, Celina, Ohio, and Brian James, Wilmington, Ohio; a stepson, Bruce Bollenbacher, Rockford, Ohio; two stepdaughters, BethAnne (Gary) Eikenberry, Rockford, Ohio, and Becky Jo (Bob) Shope, Rockford, Ohio; a step daughter-in-law, Beverly (Dave) Kuck, New Bremen; grandsons, Joe James, Steve James, Gabe (Nicole) James, and Roby James; a granddaughter, Leana James; a great granddaughter, Rayna James; and many step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by a stepson, Barry Bollenbacher.
Joan was a 1951 graduate of Celina Senior High School. She retired from the Mercer County Commissioners office in 1999 after 30 years of service.
Joan was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Celina, Mercer County Planning Association, and Mercer County Democratic Party.
Visitation hours will be from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church, Celina, with Rev. Jeff Gramza and Vicar Dan Gutman officiating; where visitation hours will be from 9:30 am – 10:30 am prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery, Celina, OH. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon in the St. John Fellowship Hall.
