Jim Runk

James E. "Jim" Runk, age 83, of Lynchburg, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, October 18, 2021 at Highland District Hospital.

He was born December 4, 1937 in Peebles, Ohio, son of the late Ronald Arthur Runk and Lena Grace (Huffman) Runk. On June 2, 1956 he married Kathryn Ann (Copeland) Runk, whom passed away on March 6, 2021.

Jim was a member of Danville Church of Christ and had retired from Lynchburg Clay School after 30 years and 6 days of dedicated service to being their custodian. He was former volunteer fireman for Lynchburg Fire Department.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Dyanna and Ted Foster of Lynchburg, son, Tony Runk of Lynchburg, grandchildren, Timothy (Megan) Foster of Jackson, MI, Stephanie Foster of Lynchburg, Kalen (Amy) Foster of Goshen, Samantha (Ramon) Ahrman of Xenia, and Jay (Honey) Runk of Hillsboro, great-grandchildren, Derek Foster, Grant Foster, Breyanna Hutchinson, Bethaney Hutchinson, Nathan Foster, Kevin Foster,  Allison Foster,  Connor Ahrman, Lily Ahrman, and Anderson Runk. Also surviving are his siblings, Gladys "Corky" Rumor, Shirley Gayle Cox, Danny Martin Runk, Jeffrey Dean Runk, and Mickey Leon Runk, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by three sisters, Judy, Ethel Louise, and Wahneta, and a brother, Jerry David Runk.

Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St. Hillsboro, Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Darrin Sanderson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hightop Cemetery, Samantha, Ohio.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 pm until the time of the services.
