James R. "Jim" Flint, age 93, of Wilmington, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at home in Wilmington, OH.
He was born October 5, 1922 in Melvin, OH, son of the late Clarence Albert Flint and Myrtle Thomas Flint.
Jim was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington; was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran; and was a 50 year member of the Wilmington American Legion Post # 49. He was a retired operating engineer with the Local #18 Heavy Equipment Operators Union having over 50 years of service.
Surviving are daughter, Ginger Settlemyre of Wilmington, two grandsons, William (Tami) Ashmore III, Robert (Brenda) Cox; three great-grandchildren, William (Sheena) Ashmore, IV, Zachary Ashmore, Bobi Jo (Joe) Gray, and three great-great-grandchildren, Harper Gray, Brielle Gray, William T. "Liam" Ashmore, V.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mary Flint, a grandson, Jimmy Cox, four brothers, Donald,Charles, William, Marvin, and two sisters, Katie and Darlene.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Bryson Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Springfield Friends Cemetery, where the Wilmington American Legion Memorial Squad will conduct full military honors.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Saturday, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
