James Short Jr., age 72, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away late Saturday night, March 26, 2016 at home.
He was born August 9, 1943 in Bradford, OH, son of the late James Sr. and Arminthea Bell Short.
James was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1161 and had retired from Pike Natural Gas after 37 years.
Surviving are three children, Eric Short of Hillsboro, Sonya Short of Hillsboro, and Arminthea Davis of Eastgate, seven grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Joey, Stephen, Jackqueline, Jessica, and Christina, and two great-grandchildren, Violet and Harvey.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Ilene Short, who passed away on August 26, 2010 and a brother, Fred Chapman.
Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St. Hillsboro, Monday, April 4, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
