Jack Colvin

Jack N. Colvin, age 87, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born April 10, 1929 in Martinsville, Ohio, son of the late Harry Carmel Colvin and Grace Eleanor Turner Colvin.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by wife, Shirley A. Colvin, whom passed away on January 10, 2015, infant son, Gary L. Colvin, infant grandchildren, Christopher and Lynn Morrison.

Jack was an United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Wilmington V.F.W, Faith Lutheran Church, and Democratic Party. Jack retired from Dayton Power and Light, after 32 years of dedication. He was a faithful member of their retiree breakfast club. Jack was a registered Girl Scout and attended many events with his wife, Shirley. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.

Surviving are three daughters, Vickie A. Morgan of Wilmington, Ohio,  Lucinda "Cindy" M. (Dave) Coble of Converse, Texas, and Cathy L. (Tom) Morrison of St. Clairsville, Ohio, four grandchildren, Julie A. (Rob) Minney Jr.,  Jason K. (Gina) Morgan,  Jack N. Coble, and Krista E. Morrison, six  great-grandchildren, Robert Minney III, Olivia Minney,  Jacob Morgan, Steve Sizemore V, Katrina Sizemore, and Kara Sizemore, several nieces and nephews.


Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 421 E. Vine St. Wilmington, Thursday,October 6, 2016 at 10:00 am with Rev. June Fryman officiating.  Interment will follow in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will accord full military honors.

Friends will be received at Faith Lutheran Church, Wednesday, October 5, 2016, 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
