Howard L. Willis III, age 45, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Sunday evening, June 27, 2021 at the Laurels of Hillsboro after battling cancer.
He was born January 1, 1976 in Wilmington, Ohio, son of Howard L. Willis Jr. and Katherine Prather.
As an Army brat, he and his siblings moved to Illesheim, Germany in 1981. He traveled through Europe and lived at Ft. Monroe, VA, and Ft. Benning, GA. Howard graduated from Hardaway High School in Columbus, GA, class of 1994. He was a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Howard was an avid fisherman and loved to be outdoors. He worked for McCoy Plumbing for many years.
Surviving are his three Daughters; Caitlin E. Ahrmann (Claudio) Macias, Abigail N. Ahrmann, and Emma S. Ahrmann, Father, Howard L. (Teresa) Willis Jr., Mother, Katherine Slusher, five Siblings; Mina M. (Richard) Willey, Mary (John) Dyer, Melissa Rae (Carl) Bingaman, Harold Henry (Melissa) Willis, Laura Willis (Jacob) Calo, Matthew Willis and numerous nieces & nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Howard and Rae Willis and Tuck and Mary Peterson.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2021 at Union Chapel Cemetery off of Peach Orchard Road, with the Highland County Honor Guard conducting full military honors.
